What is Butt Weld Fittings?

Butt Weld Fittings are well-polished sanitary-grade fittings made up of stainless steel. Some Butt Clamp Fittings also allow altering the pipe diameter to accommodate the size of the piping structure.

When to use Butt Weld Fittings

1.    Changing Direction

Butt Weld Fittings come in a variety of designs and angles of bends. They allow directing the fluid to the direction desired without the need to add multiple pipes. This puts a lesser strain on the pipe or joints and is effective in its purpose.

2.    Permanently Leakproof

Butt Weld Fittings require welding of a pipe thereby ensuring a permanently leakproof structure. The metal structure of the fitting is continuous with gradual directional changes. This feature enhances strength and eliminates pressure losses.

3.    Branching

Butt Weld Fittings allow branching of the pipe according to the demand of the structure of piping. In situations where there are two pipes of different sizes, these fittings can come handy as they allow diameter alteration as well.

Sanitary Fittings require the clamps and welds to be strong, sturdy, and resistant to corrosion and containment. While Tri-Clamp allows hygienic and reliable transport of liquids, Butt Weld allows strong branching that accommodates the piping systems. Butt Weld Fittings require welding and thus are stronger with a permanent structure. However, Tri-Clamp Fittings are lesser reliable.
